Joel Lane, MD

Robert Sharpe, MD

Jeffrey Henning, MD

Focus lies within the lower extremity, with emphasis on the foot and ankle. Dr. Henning has fellowship training in surgical procedures of the foot and ankle, with specialties in the fore and hind foot. As a former member of The University of Kansas Track and Field and Cross Country teams, he has a clinical interest in the treatment of runners and athletic injuries involving the foot and lower extremity. 

Adam Wait, DO

Jeffrey Krempec, MD

Focus lies within the lower extremity, with focuses in the hip and knee. Dr. Krempec's primary focus in the hip is preservation, by means of resurfacing, revision, and replacement. He treats a wide range of ages, however, with expertise in the treatment of hip injuries in young adults, ranging from labral tears to dysplasia, with top-of-the-line techniques. 

Paul Nassab, MD

Focus lies within the upper extremity, with specialties in trauma, reconstruction, and disorders of the hand, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Nassab is a former member of the United States Army, spending his years of service as an Urgent Care Center Physician, Flight Surgeon, and Dive Medical Officer. 

Craig Satterlee, MD

Focus lies within the upper extremity - primarily the shoulder and elbow - but is however a general surgeon who treats a multitude of disorders, diseases, and injuries. Dr. Satterlee is Kansas City's only standing member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons society, with published works he's presented internationally. He is among Kansas City's top shoulder and elbow surgeons, with high patient ratings across the board. 

Alexandra Strong, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, with subspecialties in the shoulder and knee, but is listed as a general orthopaedic surgeon as she treats a multitude of injuries and disorders across various joints. Dr. Strong is a Board Certified Sports Medicine surgeon, with clinical interest in the female athlete. She is a standing partner of Drisko, Fee, & Parkins, LC medical group, and was named to the 2013-2015 Missouri Super Doctor's list. 

Christopher Wise, MD

Focus lies within the lower extremity, with subspecialties ranging through orthopaedic traumas. Leslie Michaud, MD

Focus lies within family practice and sports medicine, with special clinical interests including: nutrition, the female athlete and body, musculoskeletal injury, care, and prevention, as well as collision sports. During early fall, Dr. Michaud even treats middle and high school athletes with strains, sprains, fractures, and superficial lacerations on Saturdays!

Jeffrey Bradley, MD

Focus lies within the upper extremity, with clinical specialties ranging from trauma, reconstructive repair, and genetic disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Bradley recently completed his fellowship in upper extremity and microsurgery, and is now another physician Kansas City can add to it's list of minimally-invasive hand surgeons. 

Paul Cowan, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine orthopaedics, with a procedural list extending through the upper and lower extremity. Dr. Cowan's clinical interests include ACL reconstruction, multi-ligamentous knee reconstruction, rotator cuff repairs, and many others, on patients spanning all ages. During his fellowship, Dr. Cowan spent time treating athletes ranging from middle and high school to professional level athletes; including those associated with the NHL Wild, MLB Twins, and Gustavus-Adolphus College, while completing his fellowship in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Robert Drisko, Jr., MD

Nathan Kiewiet, MD

Mark Rasmussen, MD

TJ Rasmussen, MD

Focus lies within the shoulder and knee, with special emphasis on both, operative, and non-operative care and management. His surgical specialties include treatment of injury and disease of both, such as arthroscopy, ligamentous and tendinous reconstruction, trauma, and arthritis procedures. Daniel Stechschulte, Jr., MD, PhD

Cris Barnthouse, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, the shoulder, and the knee. Subspecialties include sports injuries, as well as reconstructive surgeries for both, the shoulder and the knee. Dr. Barnthouse completed his research and sports medicine fellowship under the direction of the medical staff at Harvard University. He is now the acting Head Team Physician for the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at UMKC.  Dr. Barnthouse has even treated a staff member of ours!

Jon Browne, MD

Focus lies specifically within the realm of the knee, with a subspecialty in sports medicine. Dr. Browne has been practicing for over 25 years, and spent 22 of those years as the Head Team Physician for the Kansas City Chiefs (1989-2011). Dr. Browne is the other Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at UMKC, along with Dr. Barnthouse. He gives back to the academic community as an assistant professor for UMKC and The University of Kansas Medical School. 

John "Jack" Carlisle, MD

Focus lies within hip arthroscopy, as well as sports medicine. Dr. Carlisle's subspecialties of sports medicine include complex knee and shoulder procedures. He is currently an active member of the United States Ski and Snowboarding Team Physician Pool, and the current hip consultant for the Kansas City Ballet.  We've established a superb professional relationship with Dr. Carlisle based on a mutual respect for one another's skill and technique over the past 5 years, and look forward to continuing to grow in the future. 

Kirk McCullough, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, with an extensive background and training on procedures involving the shoulder/elbow, as well as the foot/ankle. During his fellowship, he served as an assistant to the team physicians of the Carolina Panthers NFL team, and via his professional relationship with his mentor in foot/ankle procedures, Dr. Robert Anderson, henceforth became a member of the NFL Foot/Ankle subcommittee. His research and clinical interests include the shoulder/elbow, knee, and foot/ankle. He currently stays involved and up-to-date in sports medicine as an Assistant Team Physician for the Kansas City Chiefs, Sporting Kansas City, the Team Physician for St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and a consultant for the Kansas City Ballet. Dr. McCullough is also an Assistant Professor at UMKC Medical School. 

Christopher Peer, MD, MS

Focus lies within general orthopaedic, as well as sports medicine orthopaedic procedures and conditions.  His wide range of orthopaedic care includes reconstructive surgery and arthroplasty of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Peer completed his subspecialty fellowship under Drs. Browne and Barnthouse at UMKC, during which he was an active member of the Kansas City Chiefs medical staff.  Between 2012-2015, he served as the Head Team Physician for the currently #1 ranked NCAA Division I Michigan Tech Hockey Team, as well as the Head Team Physician for the entire Michigan Tech and Finlandia University athletic programs. Steven Joyce, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, as well as general orthopaedic surgery with specialties in the shoulders and knees. Dr. Joyce has extensive knowledge and practice in visco-supplementation injects for the treatment of arthritic pain, as well as PRP for the treatment of tendinous injuries. Charles Rhoades, MD

Focus lies within the hand and upper extremity as Dickson-Diveley's senior hand/extremity surgeon, but classifies as a general orthopaedic surgeon, as he lectures on surgical procedures of both, the upper and lower extremities. Dr. Rhoades was the President and CEO of Dickson-Diveley from 1988-2012, and a Team Physician for the Kansas City Royals from 1986-2010. Specialties include epidurals, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, and EMG testing as a means of diagnosis and treatment. 

Thomas Shriwise, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, as a general orthopaedic surgeon. Specialties include total joint replacement, uni-compartmental knee replacement, rotator cuff repairs, and arthroscopic surgery for cartilage defects from sports injury. Dr. Shriwise treats general musculoskeletal, as well! He's a true jack-of-all-trades!

Scott Wingerter, MD, PhD

Focus lies within the lower extremity, with a practical focus in joint preservation and joint replacement. Dr. Wingerter performs surgical procedures involving the knee and hip, and has expertise in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis of both, as well. His practice of the hip includes a minimally invasive posterior approach to the total joint replacement, meaning he doesn't cut through the muscles, and instead, releases them from the bone, giving his patients no precautions as they start therapy. Specialities also include femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears of the hip, and avascular necrosis.

Timothy Badwey, MD

Mark Bernhardt, MD

Focus is the spine, cervical through sacral. Dr. Bernhardt specializes in spinal surgery for a wide variety of conditions and injuries, including scoliosis. He also performs many surgical correctional procedures involving fusions and instrumentation.

Stanley Bowling, MD

Focus lies within fracture care and orthopaedic trauma for the entire lower extremity, as well as the shoulder. Brian Divelbuss, MD

Focus lies within the upper extremity, with special emphasis on the hand. His specialties, however, remain within the distal portion of the upper extremity, in the hand, wrist, and elbow. Dr. Divelbuss is the current President and CEO of Dickson-Diveley Orthopaedics, and carries a reputation that treatment paired with education most often results in a successful procedure and recovery. 

Constantine L. Fotopoulos, MD

As an interventional physiatrist, his focus lies within minimally-invasive, interventional procedures for the treatment of spinal disorders, although he does treat general orthopaedic pain in the shoulder, knee, and hip pain, as well as the neck and back. Some of his specialties include epidural injections, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, and spinal cord stimulation.  Dr. Fotopoulos also has extensive knowledge in hyperbaric and diving-related injuries, as well as past experience with athletic injuries due to professional ties with the Kansas City Explorers tennis team, a former KC Royals Team Physician, and the State of Missouri Mixed Martial Arts Physician. He is fluent in english and greek, and proficient in basics of Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic. 

Robert Gardiner, MD

Focus lies within the hip and knee, as he's been performing hip and knee total joint replacements for over 20 years. Dr. Gardiner does have expertise in treating athletic injuries, as well, as he served as the Team Physician for the KC Blades hockey team from 1992-2001. 

Danny Gurba, MD

Focus lies within the hip and knee, with emphasis on total joint replacement procedures. Dr. Gurba himself reports spending 95% of his clinical and surgical time between the hip and knee. Dickson-Diveley reports that Dr. Gurba has performed over 9,000 hip and knee replacements throughout his career with them. 

James Halloran, MD

Focus lies within diagnosis and treatment of conditions, deficits, and defects of the distal joints in the lower extremity, including the knee, ankle, and foot. Dr. Halloran has completed fellowships in both foot and ankle surgery, as well as sports medicine which has lead to his extensive knowledge of repair and reconstruction possibilities for a wide array of circumstances. This combination lead to his professional ties with the Detroit Pistons (NBA), the Detroit Red Wings (NHL), the Detroit Tigers (MLB), and the Duke University Men's Soccer team, all prior to relocating back to Kansas City.

He is currently the team physician for Rockhurst High School. Dr. Samuelson has performed shoulder and knee surgeries on one of our own Champion Performance and Physical Therapy family members!

Gerald McNamara, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, as well as general orthopaedic surgery. While he does specialize in the lower extremity, including the hips and knees, he also does upper extremity, as well. Dr. McNamara performed shoulder/collar bone surgery on our very own Hope Hillyard!

Atul Patel, MD, MHSA

Focus lies within musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation, as well as neuropathic medicine, with subspecialties in spasticity and movement disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and MS. Dr. Patel is also board certified in other aspects of injury or disease, including spinal cord medicine and brain injury medicine. 

Jeffrey Salin, DO

Focus lies within the lower extremity, specifically the hip and knees. Dr. Salin is another member of Kansas City Bone and Joint who performs the minimally-invasive anterior-approach total hip replacement, and is always looking into more efficient, successful techniques and devices via an endless database of literature to keep his practice on the cutting edge of musculoskeletal science. Dr. Salin also had the opportunity to practice under Dr. Lombardi prior to joining Kansas City Bone and Joint in 2007. 

J Clinton Walker, MD

Focus lies within sports medicine, as well as the upper extremity, with subspecialties in the hand and elbow.  While Dr. Walker has patients all across the board, age-wise, he does hold a special interest in those athletically-related cases, as he was a collegiate baseball player, himself!

Suzanne Elton, MD

Focus lies within the upper extremity, with subspecialties in the hand, wrist, and elbow. Dr. Elton's clinical specialties include microsurgery; or the practice of complex surgeries within a small space requiring the use of a microscope. Her surgical specialties include, but are not limited to: endoscopic carpel tunnel surgery, arthritis of the hand and wrist, and the treatment of tennis elbow.
